Setup Guide
- 1Download the workflow JSON file and open your n8n instance
- 2Click the + button → Import from File → select the downloaded JSON
- 3Click the Shopify Trigger node → connect your Shopify credentials (shop subdomain, API key, access token)
- 4In Shopify admin: Settings → Apps → your n8n app → make sure read_orders scope is enabled
- 5Click the Slack node → connect your Slack Bot Token (get it from api.slack.com/apps)
- 6Add your bot to your Slack workspace and invite it to your #orders channel
- 7Replace YOUR_SLACK_CHANNEL_ID with your actual channel ID (right-click channel → Copy link → last segment of URL)
- 8Click Save → Activate the workflow toggle in the top right
- 9Place a test order in your Shopify store to verify the notification appears in Slack

Common Mistakes
- Using the Shopify store URL instead of just the subdomain — enter only 'yourstore' not 'yourstore.myshopify.com'
- Forgetting to invite the Slack bot to the channel — the bot must be a member of the channel or it cannot post
- Not activating the workflow after setup — the toggle in the top right must be ON for the webhook to receive events
- Creating the Shopify app without installing it to the store — you must click Install after configuring scopes
- Using a personal Slack token instead of a Bot token — always use the xoxb- token from OAuth & Permissions
